1 dead, 1 wounded in shootings at Marinette Co. Citgo station
WAUSAUKEE (AP) -
Marinette County authorities are investigating a shooting incident at a convenience store in Wausaukee in northeastern Wisconsin.
Sheriff Jerry Sauve says the shootings at the Citgo station were reported just after 2:45 p.m. Sunday. Deputies arrived within a minute and found a 55-year-old man outside with an apparent gunshot wound. A 51-year-old female employee was found dead behind the counter with an apparent gunshot wound.
A statement from the sheriff's office says the initial investigation indicates the man shot the woman inside the store and then shot himself.
The man was taken to a Marinette hospital. There was no immediate word on his condition or his connection to the woman, if any.
Nobody else was injured and the sheriff says there's no further danger to the public.
