Newman High School sent six girls to the State tennis meet a year ago, four return this season as the cardinals take on Assumption.  Carly Maves filling in at number one singles, and filling in nicely. She wins 6-0, 6-1. 
Number one doubles, Anna Gosz and Toni Rutledt win 6-0, 6-0. Newman wins 10 matches to nothing.
On the volleyball court, Edgar hosting Auburndale, both teams walk in 2-0 overall.  Apaches up a game. Kendra Kundinger with the set, Nicole Nikolay takes care of the rest, leading 20-10 and wins game 2. In Game 3, this time its Camile Swarts turn for the point. The Apaches win all three straight.
