
Thursday kicked off week three of the high school football season with a great matchup in the Cloverbelt conference.
Fifth-ranked Colby, winners of 36 straight conference games, traveled to Eau Claire to take on fourth-ranked Eau Claire Regis.
The Ramblers got on the board after a Tyler Robida interception was returned for a touchdown and they took a 15-0 lead into the break.
Colby got on the board on a touchdown run from Brandon Wickersham in the third quarter, but the Hornets couldn't get any closer, falling 29-14.
In Wausau, cross-town rivalry was the theme for the day. The Wausau East soccer team stayed unbeaten in the conference standings with a 5-1 win over Wausau East.
On the volleyball court, the Lumberjacks cruised to an opening game win and went on for a 3-1 win.
