McDill Lake District offers free trees to the public

Posted:

Members of the Lake District invite anyone interested in free trees to come dig your own from the McDill lakebed.

According to the McDill Lake District, all are welcome as long as you bring your own shovel and pail and all digging is done with hand tools. No driving is permitted on the lakebed. Some types of trees available are Poplar and Willows and can be beyond six feet tall.

People can access the lakebed from public areas. Trees remaining in Mid October will be cut to prepare for the May refill.

McDill Pond leaders say, accessing the lakebed and digging is done at your own risk.
