Saturday Sports Report - 09/08

Posted:

The Manawa football team visited Pacelli and won 50-24.  The Wolves offense was seemingly able to move the ball at will.

Wausau West hosted a soccer tournament, and Mosinee lost the first place game 5-0 to Chippewa Falls, and Lakeland lost the third place game to Iron Mountain, 2-1.

Merrill played host to a volleyball tournament.  The Bluejays have reasons for optimism this season, as the defending Valley champs went 36-3 last year and returns a potential star... In junior Renee Sladek.

The Bluejays won the tournament, going 5-0.  Athens and Wittenberg-Birnamwood both went 3-2, but Athens finished in third place and the Chargers were fourth.
