PRICE COUNTY (WAOW) -
Two high school students have been killed in a Price County crash.
Officials say Urilla Judell and Morgan Dering died in the crash Friday night on their way to a football game.
"Everybody knew them, they're bubbly girls. Played basketball, ran cross country. Played volleyball. Just great kids," Prentice District Administrator Randy Bergman said.
School leaders say the girls are juniors at the school and both three-sport athletes.
Judell and Dering were both on the volleyball team. Tuesday's game has been canceled while the team comes to terms with the loss.
The crash happened Friday night in the Town of Prentice. The Price County Sheriff declined an on-camera interview, but said the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
Investigators say the girls were driving on Lound Road when their car veered off the road and hit several trees. The Sheriff said he does not believe alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash, but toxicology reports won't come back for a few weeks.
Meantime, community members are still trying to cope with the loss.
"I know all their parents, grew up with their parents so it's very hard to see those kids pass away," Bergman said.
Officials said funeral services for both of the teens will be held this week.
