PORTAGE COUNTY (WAOW) -

A Greenville man has been killed after a crash in Portage County.

It happened at 10:10 a.m. Tuesday on State Highway 34 and County Highway P in the Town of Carson.

According to the Portage County Sheriff's Department, a motorcyclist, Michael Lipske, 56, failed to stop at a stop sign and was hit by a truck. Lipske, of Greenville, was thrown from the bike. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The truck driver was not hurt, officials said.

Portage County Sheriff's officials say they don't believe alcohol played a role in the crash.

The crash is under investigation.
