UPDATE: Crews battle house fire near Tomahawk

Crews battled a house fire in the town of King, near Tomahawk, Wednesday night.

According to the Lincoln County Sheriff's Department, the fire was reported shortly before 8 p.m. on Anglers Avenue.

Once on scene, officials found flames coming out of the roof of the home.

We're told the seasonal homeowner was the only one there at the time.

He told officials he'd lit a fire in the fireplace earlier in the day.

He said the fire had mostly gone out when he noticed smoke inside the home... and coming from the roof.

That's when he called for help.

The fire is not considered suspicious.
