First Snow Fall Contest

We have a winning date for the 2012 Storm Track 9/R-Store Snowfall Contest!  The National Weather Service has confirmed that 1" of snow was recorded in the city of Wausau on Saturday, November 24th. On a technical side note: A total of 1.5 inches of snow fell between Saturday and Sunday. According to the rules of the contest, as long as a full inch of snow fell on one date, then that is the winning date. 1.0 inches of snow fell on November 24th and then after midnight another half inch of snow accumulated on the 25th. I can certainly empathize with those who predicted the 25th. It was so close!

If you guessed the 24th as the date Wausau would receive it's first inch of snow you are a winner!  And now comes the fun part, finding out who will win the great prizes from the R-Store!

Tune to Wake Up, Wisconsin! on Thursday November, 29th.  Chief Meteorologist Justin Loew, Cami Mountain and Alex Haight will draw for the grand prize winners and see who will get some great prizes from the R-Store. The drawing will occur at approximately 6:11 a.m. The 4th place winner will be revealed at that time. The 3rd, 2nd, and 1st place winners will be revealed at approximately 6:42 a.m.

Here is the list of the top forecasters this year. They all predicted November 24th as the first inch of snowfall in Wausau and will be in the drawing on Thursday. Way to go!
