Local doctors receive Bronze Stars

Two area doctors received high honors for their efforts helping out troops in Iraq. Colonel Ronald Martin and Colonel Patrick Sullivan were awarded Bronze Stars.

They say everyone who came into their hospital alive left alive. Both are in the army reserve and work at the Marshfield Clinic.

Bronze Stars are given to those soldiers who go above and beyond the call of duty.

"Whoever comes through the door, whether it's a friendly or unfriendly, you do everything you can to keep them alive and minimize their injuries," Sullivan said.

The two colonels also served in Kuwait in 2003. They say they also had no deaths at that hospital either.
