Tuesday sports report - 09/18/12

The last time the Wausau East soccer team won a conference title, nobody on the current team was even alive.

The Lumberjacks haven't won a valley championship since 1994, but were unbeaten in conference play entering Tuesday. DC Everest close behind with just one conference loss.

The Evergreens took a 1-0 lead in the first half and held that same lead in the closing seconds. Following a save, DC Everest's Nate Kitchell fired the ball downfield and picked up a save when Jon Rohr fired it in to give the Evergreens a 2-0 win.

The DC Everest volleyball team beat Antigo in the opening game of their non-conference match, but the Red Robins took the next three to win 3-1.
