WAUSAU (WAOW) -

Improvements are coming to Rib Mountain just in time for the snow this season.

Granite Peak is building a second high-speed ski lift on the west side of Rib Mountain.

It's a project that's been under construction since May and officials said it will not only be faster, but will also allow more people to ride.

"It's a great thing to have, there's hardly any resorts in the Midwest that do have more than one high-speed lift, most have no high-speed lifts," said Brandon Marqardt.

The new lift replaces a smaller lift, quadrupling the size and is expected to open in mid-November.
