A Portage County food pantry is trying to beef up its
donations. The Cupboard Pantry at UWSP is holding a food drive.
But this one offers an extra incentive for donating.
Every two protein items donated means donors get a
free Noodles & Company card. Organizers say the pantry served almost two
hundred students last year, and donations are always needed.
"We've had a couple of really good food drives during
the summer which really helped out with the starting out of students. But the
rush has started, students are finding out about the cupboard and learning
about what we have. It's gotten very busy and we've had quite a few clients
this semester already," pantry operations coordinator Liz Wescott said.
The food drive runs through Sunday.
