Frost advisory in effect overnight Sunday

The National Weather Service has issued a Frost Advisory for nearly the entire Newsline 9 viewing area overnight Sunday.  Counties in the advisory include Marathon, Wood, Portage, Lincoln, Langlade, Vilas, Oneida, Taylor, Waupaca, Waushara, Shawano, Forest and Florence counties.

A Frost Advisory is issued when areas of frost are expected to develop.  Frost can kill sensitive outdoor vegetation if not covered up.

Many locations in northcentral Wisconsin have already seen hard freezes or areas of frost this season.

Communities seeing temperatures at or below freezing on Saturday night include Stevens Point, Lindsey, City Point, Plainfield, Almond and Big Flats.

Warmer temperatures are anticipated by Monday afternoon thanks to a south-southwest wind flow.
