Cemetery provides living history lesson

Some Wausau area students took part in a living history lesson at the Pine Grove Cemetery.  7th graders from Horace Mann Middle School heard stories about people who lived during and served in the Civil War.

Re-enactors dressed in vintage clothing and shared stories with the students. The students say it was a fun way to explore the cemetery and learn about the history of the people buried there.

There are 38,000 people buried in Pine Grove. Located on Grand Avenue, it  is the oldest cemetery in Wausau.
