Playoff berths are starting to be claimed as there are just three weeks left in the high school football season.

Marshfield and Wisconsin Rapids know a little something about the playoffs, having combined for five state finals appearances in the last 11 years. Friday, the Tigers entered 5-0, having already clinched a playoff spot, while the Raiders were 2-3 and in big need of a win.

Marshfield took a 10-0 lead into halftime, but this one stayed close throughout. The Tigers held on for a 30-28 win to stay unbeaten on the year.

In Gilman, the Pirates and Owen-Withee both brought 4-1 records into Friday night. The winner would punch its ticket to the postseason. The Blackhawks stormed out of the gates and never looked back, behind the powerful legs of Tommy Schuh, and dropped Gilman 41-6.

At Stiehm Stadium, DC Everest and Wausau East were looking for a win. The Lumberjacks took an early 7-6 lead, but it was all Evergreens after that as they rolled to a 42-21 win.
