Officials in Saratoga have reiterated that a proposed large animal farm is not allowed in that town.
Plan Commission members approved a draft of a zoning ordinance Monday. This comes after The Wysocki Family of Companies proposed buying land in Saratoga, to build an 8,000 acre farm. The land is on rural preservation area, which doesn't allow large farms. And this decision made Monday night, keeps that rule in place.
"I think it's good, it does take a long time to get the zoning approved and the steps going forward are progress for the township to save the rural preservation aspect of the township," said Saratoga resident Nancy Koch.
The zoning ordinance will now go to the full board for approval.
Newsline 9 spoke with the company trying to build the farm and officials there had no comment.
