Final Farmer's Market ends with a crowd

The final Farmer's Market of the season opened Thursday on Wausau's west side.

Organizers from Aspirus Hospital and Marshfield Clinic went head to head in a tug of war and a corn fling, where they tossed corn on the cob into hoops.

Organizers said it's a great way to end their summer season and promote healthy eating at the same time.

"We're trying to do what we can to help that issue and bring the fresh fruits and vegetables, to help with the eating habits of our employees and community members in the area," said Aspirus Health Coach Cheryl Denton.

Organizers said they had a big audience, about 400 people attended Thursday's event.
