Top plays of the week: 10-7-12

Starting out at number five. To the Wisconsin Valley Conference volleyball meet in Marshfield. Host Marshfield took on Wausau East. Tiffany Stargardt gets the big spike for the big game winner. Marshfield took the second game 25-14, and ended the day in 2nd 8-2.

Number four, the undefeated Edgar at Marathon. Late in the 3rd, Wildcats Tyler Kirsch throws short to Nehemiah Werner who dodges and flings off a defender and runs from one side of the field to the other, stiff arming an opponent and finally is taken down at the 24 yard line for a gain of 28. That run would lead to a touchdown, as Edgar remains undefeated 33-20.
We hand number three off to Stratford's Eli Temanson facing Rib Lake. Big run by Temanson, juking and cutting his way through the defense. He takes the Tigers inside the red zone which would lead to a Travis Urlaub TD. Tigers win 56-6.
Number two goes to the Merrill Bluejays, as they would go on to win the WVA tournament with a 10-1 day, and now 33-3 on the season.
The number one play of the week. Wisconsin Rapids taking on Stevens Point. Third quarter, lets talk defense. Check out this blocked punt by Rapids' Jared Halbur. It's returned 50 yards for the touchdown. SPASH would win in a close one to remain undefeated 21-9.
