Wausau volleyball players work to fight breast cancer

Some high school volleyball players in Wausau faced off Tuesday night to fight breast cancer.

The Wausau East girls volleyball team played Wausau West at "Volley for the Cure." The event raised money for research to fight breast cancer.

The evening featured a raffle, bake sale and t-shirt sales. The volleyball players also raised almost $10,000 from local businesses and other donors.

"We are very lucky in central Wisconsin to have people—high school students—who come out and know that it takes a community to support a community," said Linda Grilley with the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation.

This is the fifth year the event has taken place.
