Over the past month and half there have been several burglaries in the Townships of Carson and Eau Pleine. All the burglaries had one thing in common; the thieves targeted homes where the owners had recently passed away.
The last one occurred on September 11th at 1598 Hwy 34 South in Town of Carson. Family stated that the obituary was in the paper on September 10th and when they arrived the next day the residence was burglarized.
Some of the items taken from this rash of burglaries include: two gold rings, one with two diamonds and the word "Consolidated" on it and the other had a ruby stone, a set of gold cufflinks, 40 inch Mitsubishi flat screen TV, Craftsman air compressor and welder, numerous Craftsman hand tools, men's watch and numerous other collectables.
Estimated loss from the items taken and memories of the family's deceased loved ones is priceless.
If you have any information about these burglaries or any other crime, you can remain anonymous and still be eligible for a cash reward. Call Portage County Crime Stoppers at 1-888-346-6600.
