WAUSAU (WAOW) -
It was a dramatic rescue scene in Wausau today. Authorities say a man drove off a 150-foot embankment and that alcohol was a factor in the crash.
"It is a very steep embankment. And we chose not to use the ropes and
basket to come back up the hill, because of the incredibly steep terrain
and the heavy foliage on the hill," Wausau Battalion Chief Doug Beula said.
Officials say the man was arrested for an OWI.

One man was hospitalized after going 100-feet over an embankment on Thomas Street in Wausau.
Wausau police say the man was banking at the Marathon County Credit Union on East Thomas Street. Police say it appears the man accidentally hit the gas, sending him 100-150 feet down the embankment behind the credit union.
Firefighters attempted to use ropes to rescue him but because of the steep incline, they had to rescue the man by boat.
Police say the man was conscious. He was hospitalized with bumps and bruises.
