UPDATE: Stevens Point student dies in school

STEVENS POINT (WAOW) - An administrator at St. Peter's Middle School in Stevens Point says a seventh-grade boy collapsed and died in school on Tuesday morning. Administrator Todd Kuckkahn said Wednesday that no circumstances surrounding the death of Joey Miller were being released other than he died in school. St. Peter's is a Roman Catholic school. "We are shocked and saddened," Kuckkahn said. "We trust that God in his infinite wisdom will walk with us in our grief."More >>

RIB MOUNTAIN (WAOW) -

A couple new stores opened their doors this week in the Wausau area.

Hobby Lobby is a chain store that specializes in craft supplies and lesson, and it's bringing about 50 new jobs to the area. About half of those will be full-time positions.

Employees say working at Hobby Lobby is enjoyable, and they like being a part of the new store.

Karen Allen was one of the first new hires and says she's enjoyed seeing all the behind the scenes work that goes into opening a new store.

"Realizing all the detail involved in putting together a store because when we first came on orientation, that was wide open with nothing in it, and now you can see what a difference there is. So it's been a big learning experience," said Karen Allen, Hobby Lobby employee.

Hobby Lobby will be celebrating its official grand opening on Monday. Ulta Beauty is also open. Both are located in Rib Mountain.
