Women gathered in Wausau Tuesday evening to learn more about preventing breast cancer.
The event was called "Goin' Out for the Girls" and was held at the Aspirus Women's Health Center.
The night featured several sessions including training on how to detect breast cancer and how to get their health questions answered.
Organizers say these sessions can benefit both the women who attended and those around them.
"Now they can actually see what that's all about and they may be able to influence one of their friends or help them to alleviate some of their worries," said Sheri Holmes of Aspirus Women's Health.
The event was free of charge.
An iconic childhood staple for many is celebrating a birthday Wednesday.
