Nick O'Brien

Nick joined the Newsline 9 Sports team in October 2012 as a Multimedia Journalist and sports anchor. 

Nick came to Wausau from Quincy, IL where he was a Sports Reporter for WGEM-TV, a sister station of WAOW. 

Nick received his degree in Communications with an emphasis in Broadcast Journalism from Culver-Stockton College in Canton, MO. While attending Culver-Stockton, Nick was a captain on the varsity basketball team. He was also very active in anything media related on campus. Throughout his college career Nick was a sports journalist for the college newspaper and a well known on-air personality for KCSW-FM, the campus radio station. He hosted numerous sports talk radio shows as well as called play-by-play and color commentary for Wildcat sporting events.

Raised in small town Durham, MO, Nick enjoys playing and watching any and all sports. He has a strong passion for finding unique sports stories to inform and entertain viewers. He loves meeting new people so don't hesitate to introduce yourself if you see him out and about!
