Racing fans packed State Park Speedway in Rib Mountain Saturday. It was the first day of the racing season and a chance for fans to remember racing icon, Dick Trickle. People at the track observed a moment of silence for Trickle. He died Thursday in an apparent suicide at the age of 71. The Commit To Mitt Early Vote Bus Tour made a stop in Wausau. Dozens of supporters showed up at the Marathon County Republican Party's Victory Center to greet the bus.
Senator Ron Johnson, RNC Chairman Reince Priebus, Congressman Mark Green, RPW Chairman Brad Courtney and Paul Ryan's sister-in-law Oakleigh Ryan all took part in the visit.
They urged supporters to get involved in the Romney Ryan campaign and to take advantage of Wisconsin's early vote, which begins Monday.
Sen. Ron Johnson said, "Get your vote registered and then spend the next two weeks talking with other people so they understand our economic future is at stake. Every city, every town and every voter in Wisconsin is critical."
RNC Chairperson Reince Preibus also urged supporters to get involved in the campaign, "Whether it's talking with people about absentee ballots or door-to-door work, we believe the fast campaign wins... that's what this is all about."
The tour also had scheduled stops in Green Bay, Sheboygan and West Bend on Friday and picks up again on Saturday.
