It was Day 2 of HS football playoff action and the postseason in volleyball continued with teams looking for a spot in the sectional rounds.
Osceola and Mosinee had a relatively low-scoring affair for most of the game. The two teams would go to overtime in Merrill, with Osceola advancing with a 13-10 win.
Owen-Withee hosted Gilman in a back and forth battle. Mitch Jazdzewski had two big plays in the second half that led to scoring drives for Owen-Withee. The Blackhawks win, 20-16.
In volleyball, Wausau East's season came to an end after getting swept by Merrill. The Bluejays move on to face SPASH. The Panthers defeated Chippewa Falls in four sets. Merrill and SPASH play on Thursday in the sectional semifinals.
Eau Claire North hosted Rhinelander in a match that went the distance. North won the final set, 15-6, and will face Marshfield in their sectional semifinal on Thursday.
And in college football, UW-Eau Claire staged a come from behind victory to spoil UW-Stevens Point's homecoming. Eau Claire won, 17-14.
