It's MOLympic time!
Chemistry students at Wausau West
High School celebrated National
Mole Day with some fun activities. Mole is a chemists unit of measure. The mole
number is 602 followed by 21 zeros.
MOLympic activities included, Pin
the Nose on the Mole, Mole of Water Relay and much more.
Teachers say it's a great way to
get students interested in chemistry.
"We just want to generate enthusiasm
for chemistry," said Erin Randall, chemistry teacher. "It's not very
often where you get to have a holiday in the science class. So this is a time
to just let loose, and have fun and generate enthusiasm, create memories for
the students."
National Mole Day is October 23.
Organizers say this is the 8th
year Wausau West has held the MOLympics.
