Weston firefighters deliver pizza and smoke alarms

Firefighters were making house calls tonight and brought along dinner.

The Weston Fire Department went door to door delivering pizzas and checking household smoke alarms.

Each home that had a working detector got a free pizza. Those that didn't got a free and working smoke alarm. But the firefighters still threw in a pizza.

"It's important to have a working smoke detector and to make sure that homes carry it and know what it is and b, it's is always nice to see the kids," said Weston firefighter Chad Zerkle.

Firefighters hit about ten houses Wednesday. Each house got a little extra surprise. All of the kids got to check out the fire truck.
