Red Cross volunteers from Central Wisconsin are already dealing with stormy weather on the East Coast.
They said as Hurricane Sandy makes way toward the shore, they're getting prepared to help people once it hits.
Merrill native and volunteer Laurel Cooper said she's also focused on helping people stay safe overnight.
"The coastal area looks like it's going to get flooded pretty good and we just don't know what's going to happen. Nobody knows, really. We just hope that we are able to do what we can do for them," said Cooper.
Cooper is in Maryland and said as soon as the storm passes, she and other volunteers will be ready to help families along the coast.
