Newsline 9 has been checking in with volunteers from central Wisconsin who are stationed on the East Coast.
Red Cross volunteers said they have been getting prepared all along the coast, for high winds, heavy rains and flooding.
Volunteers told us as the storm pushes into the coast, they're seeing the weather quickly change for the worse.
"It rains real hard when the heavy bands come through and the winds are gusting pretty good now, so they shut down all of our Red Cross vehicles cause those are all ten foot high," said Laurel Cooper.
Laurel Cooper is a Red Cross volunteer from Merrill. She and other central Wisconsin volunteers are stationed in Baltimore, Maryland.
Cooper said from there, they will hunker down until the storm passes and will be sent to surrounding cities to help people affected by the storm.
