Central Wisconsin Airport officials say strong winds in Chicago delayed some flights in and out of the airport Tuesday night.
Superstorm Sandy has caused more than 16,000 flights to be canceled during the past few days, and Central Wisconsin Airport Administrator Tony Yaron told Newsline 9 that could affect travel here.
"What happens in Newark or New York is going to affect us here, or Chicago or Atlanta by the same token, it's going to back up the whole system. So at some point it's going to affect us," he said.
Airline employees are doing their best to work with travelers who have to change their schedules.
Yaron recommends that if you will be traveling to the east coast in the next couple of days, check with your airline to see if any of your travel plans will be affected.
