OWEN (WAOW) -
The Owen mayor says the city has accepted the resignation of Police Chief Randy Poirier.
According to a news release, the city and outside investigators looked into allegations of off-duty misconduct that was said to have happened in September.
City officials say investigators did not find any significant evidence of misconduct related to the chief's employment, and the chief cooperated with the investigation.
According to the city, Chief Poirier agreed that resigning was in the best interest of himself, his family, and the community.
In a news release, the city says it's reviewing policies and procedures to make sure police officers know what is appropriate while off-duty and to make sure expectations are clearly defined.
