UPDATE: Man who died in Marathon County crash identified

Investigators have released the name of the man who died in a single-vehicle crash Sunday morning.

According to the Marathon County Sheriff's Department, 21-year-old Derek Roosa of Mosinee died after his car left the road.

The crash is still under investigation at this time, but authorities say early reports indicate speed was a factor.



Marathon County police say a 21-year-old man is dead after an early morning crash in the Town of Emmet.

Authorities say the one-car crash happened just before 5 o'clock a.m. on Sugar Bush Road near Badger Road.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation, but Marathon County Sheriff's officials say the car left the road and hit several trees.

They are not releasing the man's name.
