There isn't any snow on the ground, but some sled dog racers got the chance to practice their sport in Marathon County.
71 different teams from across the U.S. gathered at Willow Springs this weekend for a "dry run" of sorts.
Where teams pull their musher on wheels.
Sled dog racers said the sport is growing in popularity and many of these mushers are third or fourth generation racers.
"It's great to share it. It's a great family sport. Teaches the kids great values. And unlike a lot of families these days, it's something we can do together even into adulthood," said Ed Clifford.
This was the first time a race of this kind was held at Willow Springs.
Organizers said they hope to hold another dry racing event this season.
