WOOD COUNTY (WAOW) -
Gabriel Luis Campos has pleaded not guilty to the murder of Maisie McCullough.
The 20-year-old appeared in Wood County court Monday. He pleaded not guilty to a charge of first degree intentional homicide. His case will now head to trial.
Campos is accused of killing 18-year-old Maisie McCullough of Marshfield in September.
According to a police report, Campos is the father of McCullough's two year old son.
Marshfield Police say McCullough was found dead in a residence in the 1300 Block of E. Blodgett Street in Marshfield shortly after 10 p.m. on September 7th. A few hours later, Wood County authorities sent out an alert for McCullough's two-year-old son, who was missing from the residence when police arrived on scene that night. The alert said the child could be with his father, Gabriel Luis Campos.
Police say Campos called police to turn himself in just before 4:30 a.m. Saturday, September 8th at a Wisconsin Rapids motel.
He is currently being held at the Wood County jail on a $5 million dollar bond.
