OCONTO COUNTY (WAOW) -
Most of the people involved in a summer marijuana drug bust
have reached plea deals in federal court.
Law enforcement officials say seven people were part of a
major growing operation in the Chequamegon
Nicolet National
Forest.
Five of them have reach plea deals, according to federal
court officials.
Jose Alfredo Sierra-Aguilar, Pedro Infante-Ramirez,
Guillermo Chavez-Carrion, Miguel Sanchez-Garcia and Maria Blanca Garcia are all
scheduled for sentencing next year, after entering guilty pleas.
Court officials say Juan Carlos Cervantes Contreras is
scheduled for a final pre-trial on January 3rd.
They say Jose Luis Sanchez does not have a future court date
set.
Forest officials say the
value of the marijuana was close to $8 million.
