Plea deal reached for some in Chequamegon Nicolet drug bust

Posted:
OCONTO COUNTY (WAOW) -

Most of the people involved in a summer marijuana drug bust have reached plea deals in federal court.

Law enforcement officials say seven people were part of a major growing operation in the Chequamegon Nicolet National Forest.

Five of them have reach plea deals, according to federal court officials.

Jose Alfredo Sierra-Aguilar, Pedro Infante-Ramirez, Guillermo Chavez-Carrion, Miguel Sanchez-Garcia and Maria Blanca Garcia are all scheduled for sentencing next year, after entering guilty pleas.

Court officials say Juan Carlos Cervantes Contreras is scheduled for a final pre-trial on January 3rd.

They say Jose Luis Sanchez does not have a future court date set.

Forest officials say the value of the marijuana was close to $8 million.
