Operation Christmas Child

Posted:

An effort is underway in Wausau,  to send Christmas gifts around the world,  to children in need. Bible Truth Chapel  on North 1st Avenue, is a collection site for Operation Christmas Child. The project is  run through Samaritan's Purse,  an international Christian relief and evangelism organization.

The boxes are filled with school supplies, toiletries and trinkets. Anything small enough to fit into a shoe box. Since Monday, more than 1900 shoe boxes have been dropped off by individuals and businesses. The collection will continue through next Monday morning at the chapel. From Wausau, the boxes are sent to Plover and a sorting facility in Minneapolis, MN and off to points around the globe.

Those who give a shoe box gift can "follow" their shoe box and discover the country in which their gift will be hand-delivered to a child in need. This is possible through a "follow your box" form online. www.samaritanspurse.org/occ
