WESTON (WAOW) -
We have new developments on returning bus service to the Everest Metro Area.
A bus route was released Thursday, along with the expected cost of bringing back the service. Earlier this week we told you an agreement was reached to restore the service.
As part of the deal, fewer daily bus runs. Thursday officials decided on the one and only route they will be offering. It will make the rounds seven times a day.
"We did actually approve a schedule for the bus and we approved a conceptual framework for the route, the route will now be essentially street tested by a bus," said Vice Chair of Wausau Area Transit Commission, Keene Winters.
"We're running the numbers preliminarily and we're expecting that the cost for the service next year in 2013 will cost $9 per developed parcel here in the village," said the Village of Weston Administrator, Daniel Guild.
Officials say they'll be finalizing the contracts of the new bus service next month.
