UPDATE: Three hurt, two dead in Marathon Co. crash

MARATHON COUNTY (WAOW) -

We have an update on a crash that killed two people Friday in Marathon County.

Investigators say 82-year-old Joyce Mihna and 87-year-old Steve Mihna were killed in the crash.


Authorities say a van and an SUV collided on highway 153 near Hatley Friday afternoon.


Three other people were injured. Their conditions are unknown at this time.


The crash is still under investigation.

Two people were killed, and three were injured after a crash in Marathon County, according to State Patrol.

Officials say a van traveling eastbound on Hwy 153, in the town of Bevent, collided head on with an SUV. The crash happened just after 4:20 p.m. Friday. at Highway 153 and Sandy Lane near Hatley.

All lanes of traffic were blocked while the crash reconstruction team investigated. All lanes of traffic are now open.

Multiple agencies responded to the crash, including Marathon County Sheriff's Department, Hatley Fire Department, Weston ambulance, Rib Mountain ambulance, Medivac and Ground Spirit ambulance.
