Still too warm for more snow at Granite Peak

RIB MOUNTAIN (WAOW) -

Employees at Granite Peak said they won't open until at least December 1st.

They said the warmer weather hasn't been helpful for making snow and they have to postpone their opening weekend.

Still, managers said they're not too concerned.

"It varies year to year, some years we start making snow November 1st and don't stop and other years we start late and don't open as soon as we want to, it's always a gamble," said Brandon Marquardt.

Right now, workers have stopped making snow because it's so warm.

They said they're going to try again this weekend if the weather cools off.
