NTC students to donate 100 turkeys

Students at Northcentral Technical College in Wausau will keep families well-fed during the holiday season.

Over the next three weeks, students with the Criminal Justice Club will donate 100 turkeys.

The group acquired the birds by setting up turkey stamp collection bins at Quality Foods in Rib Mountain.

After hitting their goal, they came up with a use for their leftover stamps.

"We're getting gift cards from the turkeys and donating dog food and cat food to the Humane Society," says Criminal Justice Club Historian Mary Meyerhoff.

The club is donating to 12 sites including the Salvation Army, the Neighbors Place, and the Lincoln and Marathon County Humane societies.
