Syrian warplanes today have been bombing suburbs of the capital, Damascus, as well as areas held by rebels in northern Syria.
Activist groups say the raids hit several eastern suburbs of Damascus and a strategic northern city (Maaret al-Numan) that is a key supply route linking the capital with the commercial hub of Aleppo.
Meanwhile, Syria's government is blasting the European Union for endorsing a newly-formed opposition coalition. The EU's 27 foreign ministers recognized the coalition during a meeting this week.
A state-run Syrian newspaper describes the coalition as a "deformed" newborn baby, and adds that all possible "cosmetic surgeries do not bode well for the evolution of this monster."
It was a successful weekend hunt for numerous area kids who bagged their very first deer.
