Teen driver cited in Rib Mountain hit-and-run


A 16-year-old Wausau boy has been cited for his involvement in a hit-and-run in Rib Mountain last week.

According to citation records obtained by Newsline 9, the teen was cited with hit and run involving injury, inattentive driving, and failure to notify police of an accident.

The incident happened Thursday, November 15 at about 3:45 p.m. at the intersection of Robin Lane and Hummingbird Road. Officers said one child was hit and was taken to the hospital. A second child was examined by paramedics.

The teenage driver left the scene but was later found. According to citation records, the driver admitted to leaving the scene because he was scared.
