The Associated Press announced its all-state teams for 2012. And Amherst defensive back Ryan Makuski made Wisconsin's first-team. The senior scored the final touchdown in both the level three win over Stratford and in the title game against Lancaster.
His teammate, quarterback Chris Zblewski also earned all-state honors, getting named to the state's second-team after starting in every game except the championship game after getting sidelined with an ankle injury.
SPASH defensive tackle Adam Wachowiak earned first-team honors after making 72 tackles and 10 sacks for the conference co-champions.

The Thanksgiving Classic at Wausau East was the stage for a couple of high school boys basketball games on Friday.

The early game featured a match up between Newman Catholic and Wausau West. The Warriors jumped out ahead at halftime and battled down to the wire with the Cardinals. Wausau West would win a close one, taking down Newman Catholic 45-42.

The late game saw the host team taking on a good Pacelli squad. The Lumberjacks rode the hot hand of Conrad Felton all night as he finished with a game high 31 points. The Cardinals got 20 points from Brett O'Sullivan to take down the home team in another close game, 56-52.
