MARSHFIELD (WAOW) -
Some red bulbs have appeared during the Keep the Wreath Green campaign in Wood County.
The red lights represent three structure fires since Thanksgiving.
Firefighters say the wreath is hung as a fire safety reminder during the holidays.
All three fires were reported this past week.
"The largest type of holiday fire we have is actually cooking fires, then heating, the open flame type. All three of those kind of go together. We want people just to use some common sense," said Marshfield Deputy Fire Chief Robert Haight.
The keep the wreath green program runs through New Year's Day.
This is the 19th year of the campaign.
The Deputy Fire Chief says last year, there were six fires during the holidays in Wood County.
