Holiday spirit fills downtown Merrill for annual Christmas Parade

MERRILL (WAOW) -

The streets in downtown Merrill were filled with holiday cheer for the city's annual Christmas parade on Saturday evening.

Hundreds of people lined up on Main Street to get a glimpse of this year's floats.

There was also a band playing Christmas music during the event.

Many people said this is one holiday tradition they refuse to miss.

"We've been coming here ever since it started, the kids actually were in the parade, and now our grandchildren are coming and watching it, so it's really fun," said Joann Hoss.

People we talked to said this year's milder weather helped boost turnout.
