"Big Bundle Up" campaign helps needy families

A campaign kicked off on Monday to help needy families in Wisconsin this winter.

"The Big Bundle Up" is being promoted by the Wisconsin Department of Tourism. It's designed to help make winter a little warmer.

Locations across central Wisconsin are collecting hats, mittens and other warm clothing for needy people in our community.

The Woodson Art Museum is one of them. Leaders there said they took part in a similar campaign last year, and are excited to partner up again.

The Central Wisconsin Visitor's Bureau is also a drop-off location, as well as the visitor's centers in Stevens Point and Wisconsin Rapids.

Leaders at visitor's centers in the Northwoods are also collecting winter items. You can drop them off at locations in Minocqua, Rhinelander and Tomahawk.

The campaign runs through January 4 and all of the items collected will be donated to charities in the community.
