RHINELANDER (WAOW) - The Rhinelander Fire Department has released the names of the people victims of the Rhinelander house fire. Esther and Robert Fischer lived in the Maple Street home that burned Wednesday, according to a media release. The fire was reported at 10:42 a.m.
Robert Fischer was not able to get out of the house and died at the scene.
Esther Fischer was able to get out of the home. She was sent first to St. Marys Hospital and was later transferred to the burn unit at Madison's University Hospital. She has been released and is doing well, according to the Rhinelander Fire Department.
Firefighter's have not yet wrapped up their investigation into the cause of the blaze. Williams says it is not considered suspicious but investigators won't t release any other details on the cause.
