
Pointers ice hockey returned home to take on UW-Stout. Last weekend, they split the series at Eau Claire, including an overtime win that gave the Blugolds their first loss of the season. On Friday the Pointers dominated Stout, winning the game 8-0.
In boys high school basketball, Merrill hosted Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln. The score was close all game but in the end the Red Raiders proved too much for David Jesperson and the Blue Jays. Wisconsin Rapids took this one 51-43.
An undefeated SPASH boys team played host to Wausau East on Friday night. The two teams came into the game tied atop the Wisconsin Valley Conference. SPASH jumped out to an early lead and extended it all game. The Panthers took care of the Lumberjacks, 66-46, to improve to 6-0 on the season.
In girls high school hoops, DC Everest hosted Hudson. The Evergreens would wind up beating Hudson in this one 54-42.
